Johns Creek Design + Build : Part 3 The Kitchen

The kitchen was a complete gut and rebuild. The pickled-finish cabinets and dated wallpaper did not represent the owner's taste or their way of cooking.

We designed and built custom cabinets to look like furniture with legs and feet for all cabinets; we removed the oddly shaped island bar and then installed a larger granite-topped island and the appliances were all hidden in cabinet fronts.

The explosive WOW of this design was the pinstripe effect we designed and installed as the back splash. Installing wooden “pinstripes” inlayed between marble stone cut into tiles created the amazing focal feature.

In a recessive alcove off the kitchen, we removed a window and built in a custom wine rack display system to showcase the clients' wine collection. The wine rack area features the client's great collection of wines all done in a very cost-effective way. Several design concepts were presented, such as a separate wine room, but for the budget limit on this portion of the project, the owners opted for a simple approach. The overall effect of the entire space is warm but stunning!

Oh! and the owner saw a display table in a department store and liked it so much they had us replicate the design. We did and it's pretty amazing. We call it the "jacks" table.
